Acne is probably the most common skin disease experienced during the teenage years. Males and females alike experience increase in the androgens hormone causing overproduction of keratin and sebum. This results in the clogging of skin pores in the creation of acne. If acne is not taken care of properly, little black spots on the skin will begin to appear. It will be a reminder for the rest of your life that you chose not to take care of the situation.
There are more products available in the market today than ever before. It seems as though every time we turn on our TVs another supermodel or beautiful actress is telling us about the product they use to keep their skin clean and fresh. As they talk about more and more products it becomes quite confusing as to what they actually are. In general, they come in six different categories:
-soaps
-Toners
-cleansers
-toners
-face scrubs and masks
-Products aimed at acne scarring
While all of the above products are tagged as acne treatments not all of them are suitable for acne affected skin. Some of them are merely cosmetic in nature and will not cure the actual infection. You will be able find all these products readily available on the Internet as well as storefronts. However, before purchasing any products you need to do your research and make an informed decision. Not doing so, can result in the purchase of products that could actually make your skin condition worse. Your best bet is to seek the advice of your doctor or pharmacist so you obtain the proper medicine.
It is no secret that acne is embarrassing. Nobody wants to be the victim of finger-pointing and jokes. This can result in a rush to treat it and sometimes treating it wrongly. Undertaking acne treatment can also be quite expensive. If not treated correctly, it can result in not only a worsened condition but also cost you a significant amount of money that was spent for the wrong reasons. 3. A common ingredient in cosmetics is Rosehip seed oil. While it will not cure acne, it is very effective in treating scarring. Rub the oil into the damaged skin areas twice a day for about 15 minutes and you should see some improvement.
4. Eating healthy is one of the greatest ways to prevent acne. We all fell victim during our teenage years to the wonderful world of fast food, pizza, cakes, cookies and chocolate. While all of these foods taste great they are unfortunately one of the major causes of acting as the sugars, saturated fats and vegetable oils that they are prepared with our surefire ingredients in the appearance of a zit.
5. If your budget is tight consider rubbing apricot juice on your acne. While it sounds a little bit off-the-wall it does alleviate the condition if you apply it to the affected area for about 10 minutes a day.
